On June 15-16, Ethnicity, Trans-Ethnicity, and Universality: the 10th International Symposium on Ethnic Literature was held in Harbin. Over 200 scholars from more than 100 universities and research institutions worldwide gathered to engage in discussions on the theme of "Ethnicity, Trans-Ethnicity, and the Universality of Ethnic Literature."
ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Secretary of the HEU Party Committee, and LUO Lianggong, President of the World Ethnic Literature Professional Committee of the Chinese-Foreign Language and Culture Comparison Association, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Central China Normal University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

15 scholars, including Professor LUO Lianggong of Central China Normal University and Professor GUO Yingjian of Renmin University of China, delivered keynote speeches at the conference. Additionally, Professor TAN Huijuan from Hangzhou Dianzi University and Professor BI Zhoupin from Hainan University provided valuable insights and commentary.
The conference featured 14 sub-forums, where attending experts and scholars explored topics such as the trans-ethnic nature of ethnic literature, community writing, urban and rural narratives, and other pressing issues in ethnic literature research. These discussions facilitated academic exchange and fostered mutual learning among participants.
The conference was jointly organized by the World Ethnic Literature Professional Committee of the Chinese-Foreign Language and Culture Comparison Association, the School of Foreign Studies at HEU, and the School of Foreign Languages at Central China Normal University. The 11th International Symposium on Ethnic Literature will be hosted by Chongqing University in 2025.
