On the occasion of the 41st Teachers’ Day, the School of Foreign Studies organized all faculty and staff to take part in the themed celebration “Following the Footsteps of the General Secretary, Remembering His Instructions, and Cultivating New Talents”. Through on-site visits, group recitations, and reflective essays, participants revisited the important speech and directives delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of the university on 7 September, 2023.
Treading the Sacred Ground Again—An On-the-Move Ideological & Political Course
More than 100 faculty members of the School set out in formation from Building No. 41, walking along the exact route taken by General Secretary Xi to the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Memorial Hall. Inside the hall, they retraced the university’s arduous journey through the historical corridor, gaining a profound appreciation for the “Harbin Military Engineering Institute Spirit” via artifacts, videos, and guided narratives.

Teachers at the event voiced a shared resolve: to engrave the General Secretary’s earnest expectations upon their hearts, to carry forward the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Spirit, to weave the red gene into every lesson, and to tell China’s story well in foreign languages.
Short Paper, Long Love — Writing the Answer Sheet of a Powerful Nation
After the hike, faculty members penned their reflections in commemorative booklets, solemnly pledging to render new meritorious service for building a strong country and rejuvenating the Chinese nation.
Wu Yue, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, remarked, “This event is both a renewed boost to promoting the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Spirit and a re-mobilization to implement the General Secretary’s important speech and directives. The entire school will weave the spirit into every facet of fostering virtue through education, translate the General Secretary’s trust into every aspect of reform and innovation, and make fresh contributions toward the university’s accelerated development into a world-class institution with distinctive strengths.”
