The Foreign Literature Research Center currently has 10 faculty members, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, 3 faculty members with doctoral degrees, and 1 doctoral candidate. The main research areas include English and American literature, comparative literature studies, digital humanities and literary research, as well as cross-cultural comparative studies between China and other countries. The primary courses offered are "Selected Readings in English Literature", "20th Century American Literature" ,"Selected Readings in English Poetry", "History of the English Language", "Chinese American Literature", "Contemporary Australian Literature", "Contemporary Canadian Literature", and so on.

The Foreign Literature Research Center is built upon the master's program in English Language and Literature, which was the first master's discipline approved and established in 1998. This discipline has a rich foundation and a well-structured academic team, which has led to distinctive characteristics in research areas such as English and American Gothic novels, English and American stream-of-consciousness novels, English poetry, and digital humanities, resulting in substantial academic achievements.

The Foreign Literature Research Center adheres to the philosophy of "solid foundation and seeking innovation," continuously introducing new research methods, perspectives, paradigms, and trending topics based on classical literary studies. This approach aims to adapt to contemporary social developments and academic needs while actively promoting the advancement of the discipline.
