On the new journey toward digital-intelligent integration and innovation-driven development, how second language acquisition research can better align with national language capacity, serve the construction of an international communication framework, and empower the digital transformation and upgrading of education has become a significant issue of our times for the academic community. We urgently need to explore together the following questions: At what levels is digital-intelligent technology reshaping the theoretical paradigms, research approaches, and teaching practices of second language acquisition? In an era of increasingly integrated disciplinary boundaries, how can we promote genuine dialogue and collaborative innovation among linguistics, education, cognitive science, computer science, and other related fields? In response to the strategic needs of national development, how should second language acquisition research demonstrate its disciplinary value and provide forward-looking, practice-oriented intellectual support?
Accordingly, “Digital-Intelligent Integration, Convergent Innovation: The Ninth China Forum on Second Language Acquisition Research” will be held in Harbin, known as China’s “Ice City,” from July 10 to 12, 2026. The forum is jointly organized by the Second Language Acquisition Research Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and Harbin Engineering University, and hosted by the College of Foreign Studies, Harbin Engineering University.
Since the release of the First Announcement, the forum has received an enthusiastic response from the academic community. We hereby issue the Second Announcement to present the list of keynote speakers, an overview of the conference agenda, and guidelines for participants.
